Halo Mailing List #4

The Pizza Hut show last saturday was pretty much a success -- thanks to everyone who showed up to hear us debut a whole bunch of new songs - some which haven't even been written yet ---

Currently the Halo is working to put together another album's worth of new material -- probably released as another cassette on Ludicrous Records (unless anyone out there gives us a few grand to put out a CD)

We now have completed mixes of -- Please Stop Kicking my Head,Dr. Dog, Obsequious (sp?) and Love song for X -- Other songs in the mixing process now are Blymy the Pirate, Nose, Pretty Flower and Mr. Fuckey Fuck Face

We're trying to get this out as soon as we can (so probably early '96).

There are no gigs in the near future -- but that could change any day -- we're working on it.
Keep in touch -- don't be Email strangers.
Love,
A Halo Called Fred

PS. Jim's rash is finally almost gone -- so no more sex life threatening chain letters -- please !! ;)

A HALO CALLED FRED NEWSLETTER #5

Hello my squirming little puppies, Brushwood Thicket Farmer here doing a guest letter spot. I guess it's hard to be a "guest" when you're also in the band. Oh well, one day we'll get Chester to do it then there'll be no type since he has no tangible fingers. I hope your Holidays went well with no broken bones or horrid emotional upheaval that leaves you WREAKED and SHATTERED ON THE FLOOR WITH NO HOPE AND THEY'VE FIRED YOU FROM YOUR JOB AND...and...umm...

ahem.

So, we have gigs, at last. Let me share them.

Dec 10 sunday-JOHN &PETERS, New Hope, PA 9pm
See the town, have some drinks, hear some local bands.

Dec 29 Friday-PALMYRA TEA ROOM Bound Brook NJ 10pm
All ages. special extra act to be announced (we have to call him)

Only a rumor: show with Bionic Rhoda in January? We'll see.

We just got word that our new recordings are mixed at last so a full tape is on the way. Side one will have nice new produced stuff and side two will be rare extras and older slapshod musical experiments and jams. We do it for the kids, man, the kids.

Well! You have all offended me by reading this for far too long. Get lives and think for yourselves you sheep! But we love you all for it.

Happy Day,

BTFarmer

A HALO CALLED FRED NEWLETTER #6

So the mainframe's down, so I might as well write a newsletter:

Dig:

There's this new tape by "A Halo Called Fred" and it's called "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and it's not out yet. Critics have been calling it the greatest album ever recorded for the past 28 years, and it's not even out yet. So the idea is we're not playing "A Halo Called Fred" on this album, like we usually do. We're playing "A Halo Called Fred" playing "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" giving a concert in the park or something. The album does not feature Lee Iacoca on Sitar.

Here's some shows we're gonna play:

TONIGHT!!!!!! 12/10/95 John 'n' Peter's - New Hope, PA - 9pm

Tues 12/19/95 The place formerly known as Babyland, now under new management, and with a new name, which we don't know. Avenue A, near 5th Street, New York. arround 10ish Friday 12/29/95 The Palmyra Tearoom - Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, NJ Special Guest Mike Kovacs. Not related to Ernie.

Fridy 1/2/96 Cafe Sin-e /shin-AY/ somewhere in the East Village. We'll let you know exactly where that is in our next mailing

Geverend Dee

P.S. "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by "A Halo Called Fred" will be available in January or February, so please buy it.

THE FREDHEAD GAZETTE #7

Sorry for the huge mass address list --- I was too lazy to break it up tonight. Somethin's been silly with my Mac -- And I don't think this newsletter written by Mr. Geverend was mailed yet -- sorry if this is a repeat

-Jim Bob

Here's some shows we're gonna play: Tues, dec. 12 at the place formerly know as Babyland now named Chameleon Club (or something like that) on Ave A near 5th. in NYC --- Starts around 10pm --- warning -- this show may be cancelled due to poor communication with club management -- so doubl ceck before you leave your house.

Fri. Dec. 29 Palmyra Tea Room. In lovely Bound Brook Show time around 9:30pm. Jim Bob keeps forgetting to give the press release to Brushwood so remind him.

Fri. Jan 12th cafe Sin-E (pronounced like the bald female Irish singer). More info on that later.

and possible in Feb. John & Peters in New hope with Catherine Moon. (maybe there will be more than 2 people in the audience that knew us -- it would have been 3 if Gene Ween wasn't so drunk --- )

Ok -- BYe

P.S. "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by "A Halo Called Fred" will be available in January or February, so please buy it.

THE FREDHEAD GAZETTE #7 1/2

just a few brief notes ----

Halo will not be playing in New York at the club formerly know as Babyland tonight (tuesday dec 19) due to snow ... snow ... .. ... and more snow ..... ... .... ... we are planning to rebook the show soon.

To Clear up the rumor that all of the members of Halo have recently spent time in jail --- we have to announce that no member of the band and no family member of a band member has been legally proven guilty of any crimes related to the Frank Sinatra assination

Hope the second half of your December doesn't suck.

A Halo Called Fred

Next Gig --- Fri Dec 29 at Palmyra Tea Room

ARCHIVED NEWS

2000-2006 A new millenium arrives. Most computers fail to explode. 2 songs are released with Tiny. Halo coasts on old glories, sits around watching TV and surfing the internet. Videos mysteriously appear, as the legend grows.

1999 The long awaited CD is released, and .00001% of the world rejoices!! Tiny brings his bass to the Halo, and tries to make it Y2K complient. Well, he tries... Grunge is like so over, but being played on Dr. Demento is cool.

1998 A long and torturous home recording process results in the year-end completion of our first actual CD. Along the way we become dissatisfied with our day jobs, but we still don't quit to go on a cross country tour. Except for Jim Bob who takes his bass to Salt Lake City, leaving Halo with totally different band arguments.

1997 Starbucks forces New Brunswick coffee houses into the bunker. Halo open several shows in NY with John S Hall / King Missile, and begin recording an album that doesn't see the light of day for over a year.

1996 Brushwood buys a computer and takes over the newsletter. The Halo web site makes its official debut. Sgt Pepper becomes the best selling tape yet. Some of Halo get real jobs. And even get married. (not to each other)

1995 The Gazette is started by Jim Bob on a tiny b/w Mac SE. Sgt. Pepper is recorded. Gerrymiah T. Bullfrog joins the Halo full-time. The manager is dumped, even as Halo makes a bit of money... or at least breaks even. The band is 3 years old. Goo.
