Text of our first press kit, from 1994.

Well, here is another cheesy band bio from yet another musical conglomerate desperately hoping that the music industry has a place in its heart to supply three young men and their invisible friend a more enjoyable and financially excessive career than their liberal arts degrees can provide for them.

What else is there to say? Our sound is simply an acoustic guitar, a bass, alternating lead and backing vocals, and some miscellaneous oddities strategically placed on a card table for percussion. The whole package can easily fit into any late 80's Plymouth Horizon for convenience.

Really, all we want to say, actually beg, is that you listen to our music. It isn't that difficult, honest. In fact thousands of people have seen us live and/or heard one of our recordings and weren't too embarrassed to admit it. Then if you have enjoyed the digital offering, write or email us, maybe we can help each other out. Of course, if you didn't enjoy our efforts, don't worry, our moms also didn't enjoy it.

Thanks, A Halo Called Fred

Fact Sheet

A Halo Called Fred was formed by Geverend Dee (acoustic guitar, vocals) and Brushwood Thicket Farmer (percussion, vocals) in the Fall of '92.

Their first album was released in January 1993 and included the bass playing of the Adhesive Queen.

In 1784 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart became a Free Mason.

In February '93 Jim Bob Rubbernecker became the Halo's roving Bass player.

I.F. Chester has always stood to the right of Geverend.

Brushwood's kit originally consisted of a few pots and frisbees, then it evolved over time to include Tupperware and very cheap cymbals. The kit is a big fan of Darwin and hopes to become a toad by the next ice age.

Three is a magic number, yes it is.

AHCF has been entertaining many different audiences from bars to coffee-houses since the spring of '93.

In 1973 Joe Zdeb had 93 hits for Waterloo.

In December '93 The Halo was banned from the Hyatt Regency for performing "Hugs Are Better Than Drugs".

Now you are reading this.

In January of '94 The Halo released their second album entitled "Chester's Dozen".

The goal of A Halo Called Fred is to entertain as many open minded people as possible, while confusing those who can't take a joke.

I.F. stands for Invisible Friend.
